Submission- set of 2 dimensional section drawings of stairs

Stair 1- This set of spiral stairs are used for going down to Louis Bourgeois's studio. The materials used here is glass. As you can see, the stairs has no handles or railings next to it. I decided not to include them because i wanted to express the feeling of "solitary"through the sense of not relying on the railings as the audience walk up and down the stairs.

Stair 2- This set of stairs leads down to the gallery from Ai Wei Wei's Studio. The materials used in making these set of stairs are wire and cement. Through last week's tutorial, Jacky suggested to make the stairs "hang" in the air, so for the final product, i took his advice and changed it. Unlike the old set of stairs, the structure of it feels less heavy.

Submission- 3 images of developed sketchup

Image 1- This image shows intricate details of two of the three textures used on my sketchup. I wanted to show how I applied it onto my stairs and the wall in Louis Bourgeois. I chose these two textures for Louis Bourgeois's studio because I wanted to emphasise the words that i used to describe her artwork, "confined", "cage" and "solitary".
Image 2- This shows a full shot of the gallery and Ai Wei Wei's studio. I wanted to capture the texture i used for the gallery.

Image 3- This image shows the full shot of both above ground and underground.

Submission- 3 Videos

Video 1-
This video shows the sections of the building.

Video 2-
This video shows the exterior of the building, showing both studios as well as the gallery. It also shows the intricate details of the texture used on the gallery floor.

Video 3-
This video shows the detailed textures on each of the stairs. It also shows that both set of stairs are different in design, with one being a spiral stair case and the other normal.

Week 3- Improved building + stairs

I've created spiral stairs in a "tower-like" environment going down towards Louis Bourgeois because i wanted emphasise on her word, "confined". Also in the sketched section, the word that i used for the bottom level is solitary. So it shows the solitary confinement of the stairs.

The stairs going up towards Ai Wei Wei's studio zig zag like, but also a circular motion as the person walks up the stairs. I designed the stairs like this because i wanted to emphasise on the word "Circular".

Experimenting with my second section

Stairs going down towards the studio

I wanted to illustrate the confined and cage- like atmosphere through creating a spider- like feel for the stairs. The stairs are held up by wires.
