This piece of artwork was produced for my HSC Visual arts body of work. The copious amount of buildings, signs and structures highlight the connection between me and my culture. Constructing the city of Hong Kong in a suitcase represents that I can travel with my heritage wherever i may go.
When I travelled to Europe in the beginning of February, i was amazed by the intricate architectural designs of St Peter's Basilica. Not only the exterior of the church brought life out of Vatican City, but also structure and interior architecture.
This photograph was taken in January, during my stay in Hong Kong. Having nature contrasting the works of mankind in the background, cherry blossoms highlight the beauty of nature. Although large structures and skyscrapers dominate the city of Hong Kong, the existence of nature is still apparent.
